Manicure

A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands. A manicure can treat just the hands, just the nails, or both. A standard manicure usually includes filing and shaping of the nails and the application of polish, but there are also also speciality manicures. Treatments for hands usually include soaking in a softening substance and application of hand lotion. A similar treatment performed on the feet is a pedicure. The word "manicure" comes from the Latin manus, meaning "hand," and cura meaning "care".

Pedicure

Feet A pedicure is a way to improve the appearance of the feet, and their nails. It basically is a manicure for the feet. The word pedicure comes form the Latin words pes, which means foot, and cura, which means care. It also means the care of the feet and toenails. A pedicure can be helpful because it can prevent nail diseases and nail disorders.

I DO NOT USE MMA

Some nail salons in the UK are using a potentially harmful compound to make acrylic false nails called MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) which can cause nail disfigurement and infections. The substance is a cheap and nasty alternative to EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) which is used by reputable salons.
MMA does not bond well to the natural nail, so the nails are filed down first with a drill to provide a rough surface onto which the product can stick. This can cause permanent damage to the nail plate. Symptoms include soreness, nail disfigurement and infections which if left, may rot the nail plate.
